Vanilla Bean Morning Shake
It's always nice in the morning to start the day with a shake that gives you a boost of protein and good quality fats. Being that I'm allergic to banana, I tend to thicken all of my shakes with the same combination of cooked, cubed, and then frozen sweet potato and zucchini that I always have in my freezer. This vanilla shake is a great on its own, but it is also mild enough to be paired with pretty much anything. Try topping it with your favorite fix ins to make it a bit more substantial!
¼ cup frozen (steamed before) sweet potato/yam (I used hannah yam here)
¼ cup frozen zucchini (steamed before)
1 scoop vanilla protein powder (I love Livwell)
½ cup full fat non dairy milk
1 tbs preferred nut butter (I like coconut or almond for this shake)
1 tbs ground flaxseed*
Handful of ice
1 tbs tocos (Sun Potion)*
1 tbs collagen peptides*
Splash of vanilla
pinch of sea salt
Blend all ingredients together until smooth. Pour and enjoy!
**For extra sweetness you can try adding one of these: 1 tbs of Lakanto, 1 tbs maple syrup, or 1 tsp monk fruit powder
Note: If you don’t have or don’t want to use the collagen, tocos, ground flax you can simply omit*
